One of Britain’s greatest fashion designers, whose creations are adored by celebrities including The Duchess of Cambridge, Madonna and Beyoncé, will stage a very special event in Southport this week.

Shoppers can immerse themselves in the World of Temperley with a fabulous ‘Trunk Show’ at Coco Boutique at 92/96 Lord Street this Wednesday (29th September).

It is a huge coup for the stylish shop to secure such a prestigious event from one of the country’s leading fashion designers.

Coco Boutique MD Nicola Johnson said: “We are very excited this Wednesday that the British designer Alice Temperley is sending her pop-up to our store .

“We will be showcasing her collections in an all-day event .

“This is our first trunk show, and their first trunk show in the UK.”

Coco Boutique is one of the North West’s leading ladies’ designer fashion boutiques.

The local, independent business offers over 35 ready to wear brands hand-picked from London, Paris and Milan.

The brands include the much sought-after Temperley London designs, which customers will be able to see in all their glory this Wednesday.

The brand is owned by Alice Temperley MBE, an English fashion designer based in Somerset. Her fashion label, Temperley London, was launched in 2000.

Wearers of Temperley designs have included The Duchess of Cambridge and her sister Pippa Middleton. Pippa Middleton wore a floor-length green Temperley gown for the evening reception at her sister’s wedding.

Her dresses have also been worn by Madonna, Beyoncé, Penélope Cruz, Thandiwe Newton, Portia Freeman, Eva Mendes, Halle Berry and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Alice Temperley was appointed an MBE in the 2011 New Year Honours for services to the fashion industry.

Nicola Johnson said: “Alice Temperley’s team are coming with some amazing pieces!

“She is sending some fabulous gowns which we are looking forward to displaying in our Coco Boutique window.

“She is sending a mix of evening wear, ready-to-wear, knitwear, silk dresses, and more.

“She is one of the very top British designers, who has dressed Kate Middleton, and lots of other celebrities.

“We will be open on Wednesday, 29th September, between 9.30am and 7pm, or we may stay open even later, depending on the guests who arrive. We will be offering Champagne. I will have a couple of models here as well. It is a great opportunity to raise the profile of Coco Boutique.

“This is an event we wanted to do last year, but we weren’t able to because of Covid, so it’s exciting to see it happening now.

“Trunk shows are a perfect opportunity to see the designs from a top designer.”

Coco Boutique moved from its long-time home in Wayfarers Arcade to its new home at 92/96 Lord Street in January last year, and Nicola Johnson is delighted by how well the move has gone.

She said: “I have always wanted to stage more events. We couldn’t do that in our old shop, because of space, but we can now in our new premises. In two weeks’ time we will be working with Donna Ida, ‘The Jean Queen’, and showing off her denim designs. She has hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram and will be bringing all her new styles.

“I am really pleased we moved. We are now on the right part of Lord Street, between The Vincent Hotel and Reputation Menswear. It has been a really good move for us.”

Coco Boutique is a great example of the many great independent local shops and businesses that people can find in Southport.

Nicola Johnson said: “We have got around 30 designers who we work with. We now stock some luxury lifestyle products too.

“We are working hard to bring top luxury items to Southport.

“We have got customers who visit us from all over the UK, from Scotland, from London, from Manchester, from all over.”

Alice Temperley established Temperley London in 2000. The brand has become known for its focus on luxurious fabrics and hand-finishes.

The designer has five stand-alone boutique stores with the head office quarters in Ilminster, Somerset with a flagship on Mayfair’s Bruton Street and an occasion-wear boutique in Notting Hill. Further standalone stores are located in Los Angeles, Dubai and Doha.

Additionally, Temperley London is sold in 300 stores in 37 countries, including at Coco Boutique in Southport.
