Popular craft beer bar and bottle-shop Tap and Bottles is celebrating it’s eight-year anniversary this week.
Owner Julian Burgess opened the Cambridge Arcade venue in the summer of 2014. Since then, they have expanded the venue, hosted beer festivals, and served countless beers from all corners of the globe.
Tap and Bottles specialises in craft beers from smaller breweries, focusing on interesting styles and quality ingredients. They offer real ale, draft beer, natural wine, and a range of bottles and cans to takeaway.
To mark their 8th anniversary, Julian and the team are hosting a number of events:
- Beer Club with Sureshot Brewery on Thursday 04/08 8PM. A meet-the-brewer event with a taster menu of beers.
- Bristol Breweries ‘Caskfest’ from Friday 05/08. Real ales from a host of Bristolian breweries.
- Music on Sunday 07/08 from 2PM. Vinyl records from Quicksilver music, followed by live music from Rich Simcock.
Julian Burgess said: “8 years old! We have definitely proved the voices in my head wrong that said we wouldn’t make it to 5.”
“Have we achieved everything we wanted to? Definitely not! but if we were a dog we’d only be just over 1, so that’s okay.”
“We have had some great wins along the way; Beer Clubs, Beer Street! We set out to offer the best range of beers in the area and it would be hard to argue we haven’t achieved that.
“I think we were the first ‘craft beer’ bar in the area, but the craft-beer movement has moved on and matured from the first wave of beer-geeks.”
“This has meant a recent resurgence in the appetite for cask ales and more traditional styles of British, German and Belgian beers. All of which we love and sell!”
“We are also stocking a wider range of ciders, natural wines, sherries and unusual drinks like mead. We couldn’t do any of it without our customers and we are eternally grateful for your insatiable thirst.”
“Southport you’ve been legendary!”
