It’s absolutely amazing what can be achieved when we work together. Southport Indies have done us proud once again, not only adapting to the current crisis but also being there for the front line staff.


The sense of community is really shining through the grey mist of this pandemic and it’s wonderful to be able to support those businesses who want to give something back.

Here are few lovely ideas we caught via social media, so peruse through our amazing list of independent businesses that are adding that little some extra for NHS and frontline staff.

Paul and the team at Gas Monitor Point wanted to find a way to give back to our frontline workers and what better way then FREE wine! They approached generous local wine suppliers Hidden Vines who donated 60 cases of wine.

This popular sandwich shop is still providing free deliveries on homemade sandwiches, cakes and breakfast. The guys are also offering NHS Workers a free drink, coffee and tea who pop in when passing on their way to work or home!

Element 5 are offering NHS heroes free haircuts

Element 5 is offering post lockdown haircuts for NHS Hero’s


On the first Sunday after Lock Down, Element5 will be taking part in #nationalhairsunday. The whole team will be in salon giving their time voluntary and will be delighted to offer NHS & care staff a complimentary shampoo, cut & blowdry upon production of your ID.

Playtown Southport


Playtown has been accepting donations from the community to help prepare and deliver meals to the local hospital.


Louie and Tanya who run the venue has been calling out to NHS staff and keyworkers to get in touch if they need assistance. This could be a simple delivery of freshly prepared meals delivered and ready for you to heat up when you get home.

The Bold Hotel (Supermarket)


Conscious that key workers are struggling to get the groceries and essential items they need, The Bold has also converted themselves into a supermarket for vulnerable and key workers to be able to shop without a queue. They are also offering chef prepared meals to your doorstep, including full Sunday roasts!

An amazing idea from the popular Chinese restaurant on King Street. Every Sunday they’re providing Free meals to local Superheroes! The business is still open for deliveries and you can keep up to date with their Sunday activity on Facebook.
