A delicious new steak house is now open in Southport town centre!
The Feather Blade Charcoal Steak House has opened at 118 Lord Street, on the first floor directly above Plaza Cards.
Diners can enjoy premium 35 day aged British steaks cooked directly in the restaurant’s stunning charcoal chamber.
Chefs keep the chamber at 400°C, smoking and firing the steaks to perfection
The bright windows at the front of the restaurant offer diners beautiful views across the centre of Lord Street, looking out towards The Monument, the Monument Gardens and the junction of Lord Street with Neville Street.
On the menu are great tasting steaks of all shapes and sizes, from rump, to sirloin, to ribeye, to fillet, to the huge tomahawk steaks.
Guests can also enjoy a range of other tasty meals, including tapas, and dishes such as Slow Braised Lamb Shank; Caribbean Jerk Chicken; Classic Fish and Chips; and Steak and Ale Pie.
There is a reasonably priced lunch menu, along with sandwiches, burgers, a kids menu, and desserts.
There is a delicious Sunday Menu with Beef Topside, Pork Loin, Boned Chicken Supreme, Lamb Shoulder, Mix (all 4) or Nut Roast.
Their signature dish is Braised Featherblade of Beef, with potatoes Dauphinoise, seasonal vegetables and beef jus, while there is an ever-changing specials menu.
The stylish, beautifully decorated venue is owned by Owner and Executive Chef Edgar Yonga.
He has been ably supported in his new venture by his wife, Manuela, and by his six month old daughter, Britney, since they opened on 15th June.
Edgar said: “Things are going very well, Saturday nights are particularly busy.
“We prepare everything here to a really high standard. It is a beautiful restaurant too.
“We offer all kinds of steaks for customers to enjoy. “We cook them in our charcoal oven, which can reach heats of up to 400 degrees.
“We have a large menu. We also serve tapas, burgers, kids meals, and other meals – we are vegan and vegetarian friendly too.
“We are normally closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but if there is a party or a function which wants to come in, then I am happy to accommodate them.”
Edgar is delighted to have relocated to Southport, having moved here from Cheshire.
He said: “Before opening The Feather Blade Charcoal Steak House, I co-owned a restaurant in Croft in Warrington.
“There were two of us running it but I wanted to become independent, which is why I came here.
“I used to work in this venue when it was Wilson’s Kitchen. I worked here for four months, but left before it closed.
“When I was working in here, I really liked Southport, and I liked how all the local businesses here really support each other.
“I have been working in the catering industry for the past 14 years.
“I am really passionate about cooking. I believe that if anyone comes here to enjoy their lunch or dinner, then they definitely won’t leave here disappointed.”
The Feather Blade Charcoal Steak House is at 118 Lord Street, Southport. It is open 12pm-9pm Wednesday and Thursday, 12pm-10pm Friday and Saturday, and 12pm-8pm Sunday.
